One thing nearly every Nigerian agrees on: we love that ultra-refreshing combination of tropical fruit, earthy hibiscus and warm spices. Zobo — the West African forebear of Caribbean sorrel and Latin American agua de jamaica — is a celebration in a glass.

Then there's Kunu Aya, the beloved tigernut milk of the Hausa people of Nigeria and Ghana — Ofio in Yoruba, horchata de chufa in Spanish. Nutty, lightly sweet, warmed with ginger and rounded with tropical coconut. Creamy, rich and deeply comforting.
